"Cari Ospiti, L'Ascensore e troppo lento, Ma Funziona!"
"Dear Guests, The elevator is really slow, but it works!"
This piece is a play on the origin of graffiti. "Graffito" which originated in Italy. Obviously they didn't have elevators when the original graffiti artists were beginning, which was B.C. times... The main purpose of graffiti artists was to warn the population and the community of pending danger in the world and in their neighborhoods. That is the origin of graffiti to tell others of what is going on around them how these artists felt. I think that's the same way it is now... I believe this is the best part about it... Tell the world how you feel... I was once in a hotel where the elevator literally took 5 minutes to get to my floor. It was VERY SLOW. I figured what a better way to tell people then with a piece of art. The hotel obviously didn't agree and had nowhere to put the piece. So I have it now. I would like to offer it to art enthusiasts and graffiti enthusiasts and collectors. Thank you,
