FUKUSHIMA POM 2011
18 X 18"
Nicholas Conlon, 2019
Digital drawing in response to what's supposedly hot out there... A very popular Japanese artist has an emblem that its repeated and made millions of dollars and has them lining up around the corner to get one of the prints. An artist that has other artists drawing all their designs. Nothing against it at all, if you can do that and it's generally your idea, go for it!!! But why is it that guy has it and the next guy doesn't? What makes it so popular? I mean popular is cool but THAT hot? Line up to get a poster... Here's our version at Nicknickers, by AD, Nicholas Conlon, digital hand drawing of the idea morphed by the tragedy of the Fukushima area and the effect of the Tsunami of 2011. This is what we think the characters look like now after the fall out. Art is meant to stir emotion. Do you get emotion from the art you see? We get it from the art we make... We are very proud here at Nicknickers, with all of our original designs... We love to make fun and to poke and prod and we never have any ill intent. Read our full motto at the end of the page...
Nicknickers. Ironic. Idiotic. Iconic. You will never be the same.
