HUMAN. BEING HUMAN
36 X 36"
HOUSE PAINT, ACRYLIC, OIL STICK ON CANVAS
NICHOLAS CONLON
This piece is an ode to those old minimalist paintings of the 50's and even before and after like Mondrian from the early 20th century and even Frank Stella and Picasso!
Of course there's were "perfect." Or just "better..."
Perfect lines. Perfect colors. Perfectly minimal.
This is Human being human. We are not perfect. We are not minimal.
From a distance this painting is that great minimalist style with similar colors and seperated by crisp, straight lines. But, as you get closer you see that nothing is perfect. Not even the words are perfect. We fuck up.
Just like in real life. This is a great representation of the world today.
This painting believes in the imperfections of humans as one of the greatest parts of being human!
