ICONOCLASTS
ACRYLIC, INK ON CANVAS
40 X 40"
NICHOLAS CONLON
This piece is a play on words in relation to a Chicago Icon and the way the world is now. Marshall Field's was an Icon in the city of Chicago and the world at one time and now it is gone. Icons last. War lasts. The play on words here is unbelievable. Try to find the beauty and never forget the great feelings you have... Marshall Field's made me feel great growing up. Going there and shopping with my grandma or aunt Popo, eating there, Christmas windows, The Walnut Room, the Christmas tree, The Tiffany ceiling and the escalators... I will miss it's beauty and I will bring back the memories through paintings of Marshall Field's. This is the first of many... Signed in pencil on the reverse. Be Original. Nicholas Conlon
Only a memory for some and for others that may not even know. Martial Feels is something that no matter when you were born you indirectly always know. We have been in a state of perpetual war since, well since forever... Martial feelings is what is always around. It is sad. But there is beauty in everything. The marble of buildings made the imagery of class and power in marble is represented by the piece, Iconoclast.
