Acrylic on plastic basketball backboard

Nicholas Conlon, 2017

This is part of my backboard and basketball series. This is part of my collection of broken backboards found in all the alleys of Chicago. There are lots. I am fixing them (sometimes not) and painting them as canvases. A Basketball Jones. I grew up in Chicago playing basketball in the alleys on different garages all around. We had a German Shepard named "Sasha" This is a part of both of those things. "Playing In The Alley"
