TRAVEL LIKE THE KING
"The King" is an Icon. "The King" is an idol. Why? Because he can put the ball through a hoop better than another man can? Throw a ball, hit a ball? That's what we worship nowadays? The way they run the courts? The way they play the field? The pedestal we put our athletes on in this society has grown to new Idol and Iconic proportions. It has always been a thing in our society to worship the Gladiator. But now it's grown to a level that seems insane. Gold luggage seems insane but ironcially, a gold basketball does not, it seems right. This sculpture represents the whole ideology of our worship of athletes in our country and quite frankly the world. It seems sometimes our athletes don't even have to follow the rules of the game and often times the rules of life. Come on, they don't even call travel anymore in the NBA. What about PED's? Performance Enhancing Drugs. It's moved to insanity, If they are going to travel all over the court they might as well take the ball and bags with them. And now it's all gold. The salary of the common athlete??? Plus, all these players are traveling from team to team now trying to create these "super teams" and get a title. Get that gold. All sports are functioning this way now. Athletes from all over the globe in all different sports are traveling to new teams to form these "super teams." It's not about the sport anymore. It's about the worship, It's about the money. It's about the gold. Travel Like A King.
